Maureen Denise McCormick is the daughter and youngest child of Richard McCormick. She was born on August 5th, 1956 on the outskirts of Woodland Hills California. Her father taught school and her mom was a housewife. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her older brothers. At a young age McCormick was a singer and dance, and she would frequently present puppet shows to the neighborhood children. She was crowned her first contest, the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley Contest when she was just 6 years old and was approached through Pat Domigan, a talent agent from the Jack Wormser Agency. He was interested in her desire to work in the business of show production. McCormick was chosen to play in her debut major part in 1964, in a tv commercial for Mattels latest doll Baby Pattaburp. She did another commercial in 1964, for the Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon she was given the main character in Wind It Up and It Breaks, a play in the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was selected from a field of 1200 children who auditioned to be the youngest of three towheaded girls on the new TV comedy The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson as well as Robert Reed as newlyweds with the family of a blended couple. The show lasted five seasons. McCormick, in her book Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady And Finding My True Voice Published In 2008 McCormick revealed how during the fifth season of the TV show, she nearly lost her the love of her life to her brother Barry Williams. The actress was just 16 years old, and the actor 19, at the time. It would have happened she stated, but the time was never right for us.
